Ading Touch "An ounce of prevention is better/worth than a pound of cure"...

Make sure that you have antivirus (McAfee, Norton, etc) installed on your pc. And even there is, make sure that you are running the latest Definition.

Having antivirus and the latest definitions will sure help you protect from virus that comes in to your pc - prevention. It is also wise to try to run some sort of Spybot or Adware removal (such as Adaware or SpyBot Search and Destroy). Sometimes you have malware or some other wares that you got from some websites.

As a rule of thumb. You should not be going to the Internet without the Antivirus with latest definitions.
