View Full Version : INOL in vBulletin
The INOL Forum may seem as it has been dead for the longest time, it is because, I have been really away for the longest time. I do apologize, really. Sorry for the long, err, "longest" delay.
INOL in vBulletin has been up since Christmas of 2007. It was meant to go live January 7, 2007. But a sad event happened before that day (the passing of a dear close friend). I meant to show it to go live February, but the "theme" was not yet developed.
Now it's March. Even though, I have not gotten the chance to create a theme for it, I decided to launch it anyway. This way, interaction can be re-established.
There are few things to consider, however, and I will lay them out in the next coming days.
So here we are! The Forum in vBulletin...
The INOL in new design is coming up soon...
vBulletin is a commercial discussion forum. It has much difference that the previous forum we've had before. Although, we will need to learn again its ins and outs, I think it will be great to have, as it is secured and scalable.
All the posts and threads before are retained.
All users who have registered after December 2007 are not in this forum. If you have registered on or before January 2008, you need to re-register.
I am still developing a script to migrate those users, but not sure how long it will take. So I just recommend to re-register to start interacting immediately. Sorry about that!

First, apologies kadagitay posts nga madi nga mabalin koma nga adda ditoy. Innikat kon ken pati dagitay users da banned ko payen.
Next, thanks to Zach for reporting all of them. I got alert messages from my mobile (a lot of them, hehehe), so immayak a dagus naingkat. Thank you.
Lastly, I'll be poking around tonight with the latest version and upgrade asap. Napukaw ngamin diay INOL staging server ko when it shipped from Texas to Cali. I am still waiting from the shipping company. But should not hinder me to do the test from another server.

I'm glad to share with all INOLERS that the vINOL engine has been successfully upgraded to the very latest stable version of the software. This should eliminate some of the bugs that may have been used by attackers.
If, for some reasons, there are issues you've noticed with the changes, or still seeing something we shouldn't be seeing, please don't hesitate to let me know. I appreciate those.
Lastly, there are cool features undiscovered (yet) by the latest version, feel free to explore or find them. One cool feature that we won't see, unless, you want to register another self of yours, which I hope not, is the reCaptcha features that really ensure it is Human being that is registering.
Anyway, I will provide more updates later if I find interesting stuffs to share about the latest upgrade...

I had a small spare time to migrate some old features from the old site to the new vINOL. I hope that this addition would make it better. Here are some of the features that have been ported back:
Standing on Top: this is the Top 10 posters scrolling in the homepage, showing who are the top posters, their profile and all posts by them.

Inside INOL: while features of this module is not as much as it had from the old one, it contains most of the ones we highly would like to have. It contains INOLers Weblogs, where the last 3 posts are present, and 2 random posts. This should provide more visibility to the Blogs created by individuals in this site. They are great - go read them. Also in addition is SuperDuper's Joke Everyday. It takes the data from that thread. Format is not integrated, but the link Read More.. should let you read them. And lastly, Today's Birthday.
