View Full Version : Did we stop counting?
http://www.zarex.dela-cruz.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/jesus-the-reason.jpg
It is less than 20 days till Christmas. I wonder if we stopped counting the days? When I was younger, I highly anticipate Christmas. I would get really excited going home from school hoping my sister had created another design of our Christmas tree. The windy weather that always made my skin "korsing" and the Christmas songs being played all over the radio made it Christmas talaga.
It's coming soon. It's coming up very soon. I love those days where you hung those red silky banners showing Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Those Sunday School events where you exchange gifts. Wow, Christmas spirit.
Now, it doesn't even feel Christmas. Happy Holiday replaced Merry Christmas. Now, it's more Santa Claus instead of the beautiful "Belen" proclaiming "Gloria in Excelsis Deo".
So let me pop the question, what is your reason for this season?
Merry CHRISTmas,
MHTS

Hmmmmm...I may be old but I still am like that kid from the eastern hills of Banna...September, my christmas tree is already up, when my hubby celebrates his birthday( 2nd week of September) , our guests are amazed... that has been our family tradition, since I became his wife ...it has always been christmas in September....then every week I hang something new till the day before christmas...I still feel like that kid from the turoturod east of Banna, I write my christmas wishes...and I pray that all my wishes will come true!..every night I visit the christmas tree and count how many gifts are under it...then come the night before christmas...I am like a kid..begging my husband if I can open one gift....Hahahahaha!...then he will say OK...just one..leave the others for tomorrow. Tha's still me on christmas season..specially our kids are far far away from us...it's just me and my hubby home...they only come home once a year on Thanksgiving...just phone calls on christmas...so sad but true...when your kids are grown up and have jobs, they only come once in a while ...... I never forget to send christmas treats to everyone I love back in PI.....and all my friends... on christmas day , we have a christmas party in my house where all our friends come for lunch...then we go from house to house to greet each and every one a Merry Christmas. My hubby and I always see to it that we share what we have on christmas...we play a big role of a project for kids on base.....Toys for Tots.
