Our team had the pleasure of visiting your multi-awarded city in Februray of this year and absolutely stuned by the cleanliness and orderliness that you guys are putting up.

We were looking a place to branch out our small business based in Manila and decided that Laoag would be a good choice. We were actually there in February to spot for the best location for the business - you know, where the most traffic/pedestrian is on a given time.

We are looking forward to doing business there in Laoag City. Truly the sparkling gem of Ilocandia.

I know Honda Cars, Phils. sent some delegation in Laoag last February for the same purpose. I don't know what's up with the plans anymore, whether or not it will push through. Hopefully it will.

What's a good business?
Almost anything is "good" as long as it is legal and you know how to run the business.

If I had the money though, I'd put up a really "nice, top-of-the-line" disco or karaoke bars full of "never-before-seen" gimmicks.

How about a tourist related establishment/venture? Perhaps a chartered deluxe bus service going around the province?

I'm interested in your business proposition.

To start with, maybe we should put up a "foundtion" to collect our resources to buy LIA. It doesn't matter how much anyone can chip in but this amount will determine how much share he/she eventually owns.

Let me know of any progress.

To the thread starter: Please invite several (or many) big business tycoon and tell them to invest in this wonderful city of Laoag to help the Ilocanos to have easy access on jobs (instead of going to Manila or abroad). Besides you enjoyed this city, isn't it great to be WITH the city that you like? ;)

Tama ba yung grammar ko? Man, Engrish is poultry este faulty again! :(

I'd say from about P0.25 to P0.5 Million you could get started plus advertising - you know, just to test the waters but I am sure it's a big hit. Even elementary shoolers have cell phones/pagers. Can you believe that?

You can't be wrong :)

Hello Traveler...
Thanks for considering our humble province to visit...
I had my second degree at UST.. (masscom)
IF YOU ARE IN A BUDGET OR A BUDGET-CONSCIOUS TRAVELER,
I would advice you to go to "PALAZZO DE LAOAG HOTEL" in "Vintar Road", right in the heart of Laoag City.. They have a POOL, a night CLUB, and a KARAOKE BAR. Room per night is about P900.00 plus tax to P1,800 per night... They also have a Restaurant inside the hotel which has a good reputation among business organizations in laoag.. its called the Cafe' Teresa, specializing in ilocano cuisine, like Pinakbet, bagnet, Dinengdeng and among others... for dessert, try their special "marunggay" (malunggay) ice cream.. if you go there ask for "LOT-LOT LAURETA" shes the S&M manager, a good friend of mine.. Tell her Michael Jay of Wild 105.5 fm in Maui sent you... (pseudo air name)..She will definitely give you a discount.. you can call Lot-Lot at this #: (77) 773-1842 or 773-1848
If you feel like going out for a walk in the city and rather not go back to the hotel to have your meal, i suggest you go to "La Preciosa Restaurant.. Its Located at the West End of "Rizal St.".. You can either take a "trike" (tricycle ride) or a "kalesa" to the place... just tell them where you want to go.... Laoag is a small city so you dont need to give them directions...
If you will be travelling OUTSIDE Laoag City, The best place to visit is the world famous "PAGUDPUD"... Its about an hour to hour and a half drive... If you dont have a ride of your own, you can either take the BUSES that travels to "CLAVERIA, CAGAYAN" or to "PAGUDPUD".. They have Air condition busses also, so you might wanna take that... if you have your own ride, you may wanna stop at "CAPE BOJIDOR" or as known as the "LIGHT TOWER" in the town of Burgos. Burgus is the town after PASUQUIN, you will see the light tower on your right hand side of the road.. This is known to be the tallest light tower in the Philippines so this is a must see.. When in PAGUDPUD, there are alot of RESORTS to consider... i can not tell you exactly where to go to but all of them are nice... If you want to save money, just ask LOT-LOT LAURETA to arrange a TOUR for you... That includes everything... She might be also available to show you guys around...The best way to go Pagudpud is to just bring your OWN FOOD and just have a Picnic at the beach....
if you wanna go south bound, Dont forget to visit the BATAC, the birth place of MARCOS... Then on to PAOAY for the Famous, WORLD FAMOUS PAOAY CHURCH... Continue your trip south bound to a town called "CURRIMAO"... When in Currimao, Check out D'CORAL BEACH RESORT... They also have a local restaurant if you feel like eating seafoods... Ask for Mrs. AVELINA QUILALA... She's the owner of the resort... Tell her Mr. Alan Bagasao Valenzuela sent you there... The place is ussually packed so its best to let them know that you know or someone they know sent you there..If she's not there, ask for ATE MIDA (mayda) or if not you can also go to "NIPA BEACH REASORT"... This is an exclusive resort hotel so you may want to make or call for an appointment first.. Or you could either go to SUBLI-SUBLI beach resort.(means keeps on coming back).. ASK for Mr. Willy Rasay... He is the ONLY authorized proffesional instructor/scuba diver in the province if you want to snorkel...

THERE IS A 5 STAR HOTEL IN ILOCOS NORTE, "THE FORT ILOCANDIA RESORT HOTEL" WHICH RANGES FROM P2,000 TO P5,000 A NIGHT...
They have all the amenities you want but its costly though..

email me at : michaeljay@radio411.com if you want more details or facts about Laoag City and Ilocos Norte... I'll Gladly help make your trip to Ilocos a memorable one...

Alan "Michael Jay" Valenzuela

excuse any typo... if any..

At the "home" page, scroll down to right about the middle of the page you will see a column with the heading that says: Going Ilocos?
Click the image right below it and a new browser window should pop out. There's a section in there that lists some well-known restaurants around Ilocos Norte and Laoag.
Not sure if the telephone numbers are updated though. Good Luck!
