Does anybody here holds computer certifications? Or are interested in achieving one? Just out of curiosity. I know it would be great to be acquainted with these individuals that passed these kinds of disciplines.

Feel free to share with us what are yours, so our INOL users will at least find someone who can (or wants) to help them out with their computer issues.

Anybody here is CompTIA A+ Certified Professional? Network+? Security+? CISSP? (Security) MCP? MCSA? MCSE? (Microsoft) CNA? CCNA? (Cisco). It'll be great to know you sir/madam.

Isu ngarud lakay, that's why you have to work your butt out to pass the first time. Sayang ti exam fee no saan a maipasa a dagus.

Well, I am currently finishing up my MCSA (Microsoft Certified System Administrator).

I am currently an A+, Network+, MCP, and CNA certified. I have one more exam to close my MCSA, then continue my review with Security+. If I have enough credentials, I will pursue CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional). This is the most expensive exam (about $400.00 for the exam fee), and you 'must' have at least two years ISS working background.

Well, let me know if you need help with your review! I got some review materials if you ever need some.

You going with 2K or XP on your M$?

wow! nagadu gayamen ti certs mon, lakay! currently makuna metten a maysaak nga MCP ta addan maysa nga M$ exam a naipasak (70-215). i'm also reviewing para iti MCSA tract. panggep ko nga MCSA 2000 nga umuna, maybe MCSA 2000: Security (with 70-214 and Security+) saak to i-upgrade iti MCSA 2003 by taking the upgrade exam 70-292. i have some reviewers met ketdi like CBT Nuggets, Learnkey and Keystone ken Transcenders.... adda kadi maisingasingmo a nasayaat pay a reviewer, lakay?

good luck on you CISSP plan!

Addan sa met amin nga reviewers mo nga adda kaniak. Transcenders is good, CBT is also not bad. I usually 'didn't' go with a lot of books.

When I took my MCP's, I just used M$ books, some reviewers from my co-leagues and EXPERIENCE (this is what you'd need). I also used ExamCrams books. It is not what I recommend but if you already have experiences, ExamCram can help you out...

If you take Security+, you can use this as a selective in taking your MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer)..

What's your location maybe we can send reviewers or cd's??? (it's not a mandatory issue)...

cool lakay...

so good luck lattan ti review.

btw, expect windows 2003 server, it will be used widely to replace 2000 server. Unix, Linux is good, it is a plus to know them....

MHTS

Hehe, welcome to INOL Harley...

Most of the certs do not really require computer course graduate. In fact, some Microsoft, CompTIA, and even Cisco only requires that you have computer background experiences and/or knowledge.

Some certs do require another cert to pass before taking a higher one, though. Most security certs, such as CISSP, requires you to have many years of background experiences in Security work, but you can also alternate a Master degree in IS Security for some year of work experience.

Their website will list some of the required and recommended criteria for the qualified candidates...
