i jazz got a new wirless router (?), my friend helped me set it up. are ther other things i need to worry about? [like security, internet, online shopping, stuffs - ya'll know whatam saying?] any hints and points will be greatly appreciated. oh btw, im using a mac.

Speaking of wireless home network, I have a rant for one of my neighbors.
He/She might not read this but I'll shoot it anyway.

Wireless devices are designed in such a manner that even if everyone in the same neighborhood uses the same channel, there is no interference that will occur between each and everyone.

If you are reading this dear neighbor, the correct channels you can set your wireless router to are 1, 6 and 11. Any other channels other than those will result in interference and packet loss to yourself and to nearby routers. You would have been fine if you just accepted the default which is six but I don't know what you're tring to prove.

The broadcast ID of her router is ShelRox and is set to channel 4.

Desktop PC
-ditoy a naka connect diay DSL (via SBC Yahoo) ken wireless router. bale kasla isu ti pannaka server

2 laptops
-dagitoy dwa ti clients diay Desktop PC.

kayat ko met nga ikkan ti wireless internet diay balay mi laoag. adda dsl min (through PLDT). apay apo madi kadi nga diay dsl ket i-share na diay connection via a wireless router? ti ammok ket mayat ken diay configuration na ket kasla met lang ta bagik. ngem apay nga madi kuna met dagitay tao dita laoag?

Just make sure that the DHCP server on the router is enabled.
Sadiay pangalaan na ti IP address tapno makashare ti internet na coming from the modem.

kasi no adda PLDT kon, ti lang nukwa masapul kon ket wireless router, ngem kuna da met nga masapul ko kanu ti agsubscribe ti Smart nukwa ta Smart kano lang ti adda wireless connectivity na...... :?

di ka mamatmati kadakwada. basta adda active nga internet mo dita modem mo, kabitam la ti wireless router tapno makshare ti internet na dayta. imbaga da lang dayta tapno agsubscribe ka man ti sabalin. after all, smart ket bagi met lang ti PLDT. 8)

isu met ti ammok nga aramiden da. lakwan dak lang ti extra nga service nga saan ko masapul. inbagak kanyada nga wireless router lang ti masapul ko, ket no mabalin nga lakwan dak. saan kuna da. agsubscribe ak kanu pay nga umuna ti smart. :lol:
