Naimbag nga bigat yo amin kakabsat!

Pinadas ko man ti nag-register ditoy website yo ta maysaak met nga Ilokano nga agtartarabaho ken agindegen ditoy Manila ti nasurok nga 20 yearsen. Ket makunak, nga napintas unay daytoy nga website ta madepdep man ti iliw ko iti lugar nga nakayanak.

Isu na laeng kakabsat ta puonay met ti buntug nan! I am using a DSL line 768 kbps accessing this site and my rig is Pentium IV 3.0 Gz HT. Kasla met la dial-upen dungngo wenno nasursurok pay.

Kadagiti web admin, saan la kadi nga mabalin nga maiparpardas pay koma ti access speed na daytoy napintas nga website yo Apo? Sayang ngamin ta napintas pay met garud and I presumed that you were contrained to a limited bandwidth with your provider or and age-old network infrastructure.

Hello asjr, naimbag nga isasangbay mo ditoy Agyamanak ta feedback mo about our site.

Although I know the main reason why our site is slow, there are also other factors that could affect its performance (some are from the client's end). Here are some of them, and yeah, agyamanak, i-try kon to man nga baliwan dagidiay factors nga mangpa slow.

1 - If this is your first time to access the site, if may take longer to cache all the files. It will be slower at first few visits, but it will catch up once all files are cached. I just noticed when testing in our Lab.

2 - Internet Connection. I know most of us have either DSL or Cable (or faster broadband), the slower the connection, of course the slower it gets. In your case, you said you have 768 DSL, which is pretty good. In my staging lab, I tried to used up all my 1.5 Mbps bandwidth by running 8 computers all downloading musics and software, and still gets an okay outcome. Slower lang talaga.

3 - Your computer. I see that you have a pretty good machine, I don't therefore see that as the factor. One of the test machines that I used to test how fast the website is only 800 MHz and Pentium II. It is slow, but not to the extreme. It is workable.

4 - The Flash files. Our current theme uses an extensive flash files and other dhtml's tags. This really eat up resources and it is the vital factor why most or some of us experience slow performance. I am thinking of changing the header to just a plain image to easen up the resources a little bit... will work on this one.

5 - Our ISP is okay. Although it is just shared hosting, it is fast enough to serve us for now... OC is what they are using.

Of course, there is always a compromise. If we want our website to look better and better, speed and performance will be compromised. Some of them will be sacrificed or shared... So I will work on some of the flash to be eliminated. Though I hate to have them go, it might help with the performance for some users.

Bottomline is... we want all of us to be happy....

I will experiment tonight with my Pentium 4 3.6 GHz and 2 G RAM to connect to a modem (56K) and will see how that results...

The baseline that I will try to base the performance will be 800MHz Pentium II 128 KB RAM....
