There's no doubt that basketball is by far the most polpular sports in the Phil. Thanks to PBA, NBA and of course - to cable TV :lol:

Ask a 10-year old boy who's Kobe Bryant or Shaq and he knows who these guys are.
One may also notice that anything American is the "in ngayon". Clothings, movies, songs, no ania ti sikat idiay america, apo, isu met ti suruten tayo ng pinoy :lol:

In terms of games, we don't know that the "Superbowl" is by far the biggest sports event in America. This is football game - not basketball.

Amangan no di yo pay ammo ti football wenno superbowl kasla ken ni Ben Lopez.

Have you ever wondered why football hasn't really caught on in the Philippines?

BOWL = plato (yung malalim)
Superbowl = Dakkel nga Plato (Napakalaking Plato) hehehe, joke lang Ben.

Superbowl is the championship game in american professional football, held towards the end of January each year.

*mostly nga cable networks dita Pilipinas NBA iti kanayon nga nakatelevise. no saanak nga mariru, ti popular nga sports network dita Pilipinas ket ESPN? ESPN ket saan nga isu ti regular nga network ti NFL. kaadwanan na nga agi-tel-televise ti NFL games ket local channels ditoy USA (unless nga adda Pay Per View-m wenno satellite dish mo sa adda subscription mo ti unlimited NFL games).

*NFL ket agay-ayam da iti 16 games in one season (1 game every week). NBA ket nasurok nga 80 games in one season. dakdakkel ti exposure ti NBA ngem NFL.

*no football kunam dita Pilipinas iti adda iti panunut ti kaadwanan na nga tao ket tay ay-ayam nga soccer.

If you look at almost every football stadium, they look like a bowl, huge bowl. Thus, the name, Superbowl :lol: :lol:

Here's what I think:
If you look at almost every football stadium, they look like a bowl, huge bowl. Thus, the name, Superbowl :lol: :lol:

During the early years of the league, the stadiums and the bleachers were very simple and didn't look like a bowl :)
