Question about the new update...

I prepared well, experimented many times, and successfully pass all the dry-runs... but there isn't anything as the 'real thing'. I have encountered so many issues while doing a face lift for our INOL. I expect you guys to throw me all your questions in this thread. I would really appreciate it.

I will finish tomorrow the FAQ, so it will also help us to know what were changed and where do we find them...

So many changes at one time, what happened?

Sorry about that, but most stuffs should all be in the same, just moved a little bit. The first thing you will notice is our Scrolling Active Forum block in the homepage. Where is it?

It is now on the bottom of the homepage and it shows you more info that before. It also shows you up to the last 20 posts by clicking the "more..." options. If this is not a good change, I can always bring back the scrolling on the top.

I don't see any changes in the face?

Members, who have the "Flashback" theme as their default is retained. So if you see the old theme back after logging in. Please change your theme from Your Account > Themes (http://www.ilocosnorte-online.com/inside/modules.php?name=Your_Account&op=chgtheme).

I thought it is supposed to be faster now?

Sometimes, we cannot help our performance to degrade due to different factors. But if you feel that the new theme is slower than the last one, please let me know, so we can adjust some tweaks. You can always opt to change your theme to the old one from Your Account.

The Homepage is crowded? The theme is too bright? The fonts are too small?

I can rewrite some of the codes to make the homepage less crowded. I tried to consolidate all the good stuffs to one block called Inside INOL. But we can always change anytime.

We can also adjust the theme to some color change. Just let us know.

Some can barely read the fonts. We can also change this, but this is how the original theme came with. We can always adjust anything to our users/members' preferences.

Can you tell us what are some of the changes done?

I will cover all these in FAQ, which I will write in the next few days. But here are some of the changes:

In the homepage. The individual blocks are removed like the following: Ilocano Smiles, Birthday Lists, Latest BLogs, Friendster, and the Scrolling Active Forum. The first four were consolidated in the one center block now called INSIDE INOL...

In addition to those, Random Weblinks with matching screenshot of the website is included. Random Ilocano Song and Random Recipe are also added. All the features of those individual blocks are still available, like expanding the birtday lists, or see the more Ilocano Smiles (and scrolling as well).

The Active Forum is now located below the page. If people want to have the scrolling forum back up, we can always put it back there.

Superduper, thank you for bringing to my attention. I am working on it now to fix it. This thread is being used in the homepage as our Random Joke block, but I will work on it now.

As a workaround for the time being, I think Quick Reply should work for now.

In our Menu on the top, two links are not yet activated (Calendar and Music). They are not needed for now. But I will activate them as early as I can. Music can be accessed from the homepage.

Please play around with our Menu and see any problems there and report it here. INOL is also equipped with Google Search, please try it on the Search function...

In case you were also wondering, those pictures in the Welcome box are also randomly grabbed from the Photo Gallery (not the Photo Album).

I made a slight change in the homepage. The Random a Kanta now gives you a button to play that song right from that page. Since the button is in that place, it will stop if you move to other pages. You can always play the Album by clicking on the Song title itself.
